With over 35 years of building experience, W. W. Schooler Pole Buildings is your pole building expert. We can offer a wide range of building options from residential garages to commercial warehouses. . . from storage buildings to riding arenas. . . from house additions to camps.
You name it, we can build it using post-frame construction!!
Post-frame construction has been around for many years. Although there are different variations of this building style, they all have the same basic fundamentals. Treated posts are set into post holes, usually 4 feet deep. The post sits on a concrete pad at the bottom of the post hole and is then backfilled. Once the girts or horizontals have been attached, the trusses are put into place. After the trusses are set the purlins are attached. At this point, windows and doors are framed up and installed.
The building is now basically framed up and is ready for the covering. The most common covering is metal. It is available in a wide variety of colors and is very low maintenance. It holds its color and sheen for many years to come eliminating the need for the yearly scraping and painting.
Pole buildings are a great alternative to conventional stick-built buildings. There is no need for the traditional “frost footers”. The concrete floors are optional and can be put in anytime after the building is finished. The interiors can be insulated and finished off. Heat and electric can be installed. Greater heights and widths can be achieved more easily. Metal siding creates a virtual maintenance-free building and a metal roof means no more shoveling. Overhangs can be installed to add aesthetic value as well as being functional. Pretty much anything you want to do to a pole building can be accomplished today.
